We created S.A.F.E.-T. in honor of Feda and Mu —to turn grief into action, and to give every family practical tools to prepare for moments we least expect.

Our dear friend Feda Almaliti and her beloved son, Muhammed

On September 26, 2020, we tragically lost our dear friends Feda and her son Mu in a house fire, a loss that forever changed us. Our connection with them was deeply personal, yet their impact reached far beyond those who knew them best. Feda’s fierce advocacy, sharp wit, and undeniable sass inspired everyone she encountered, while Mu’s presence gave heart, joy, and purpose to it all. Together they modeled strength and courage in ways that moved people, and their story continues to echo because even those who never met them could see their own children, their clients, and even themselves reflected in their journey. The S.A.F.E.-T. Skills Assessment and Goal Bank were created in their honor, as both a tribute and a call to action. Through this work, we carry their legacy forward by transforming grief into something constructive, equipping families with practical tools that foster S.A.F.E.-T. preparedness.
